Custom fields in SugarCRM
9 March 2009 - 21:33Recently however, the SugarCRM company changed the portal functionality of the community and professional editions of their software. The portal functions are now only available to the enterprise edition of SugarCRM. This also means that the default portal fields are removed from the contacts module. As a consequence, most users of SugarCRM and my authentication plugin will prefer to authenticate on custom fields only. The video below demonstrates how to create those fields.
Authentication plugin demo
2 May 2008 - 14:35I received numerous questions about using the authentication plugin. The top question was: "does it work in Joomla 1.0?". I'm afraid it doesn't and it probably never will. If your keen on knowing how to use the plugin and don't know where to start: please watch this video (and ignore the wobbly english).
This is a demonstration of the Joomla authentication plugin I wrote. It allows you to grant SugarCRM contacts automatic access to Joomla.
SugarCRM authentication plugin for Joomla
25 April 2008 - 13:49I wrote a plugin for Joomla 1.5 and SugarCRM (4.5 or higher) that authenticates SugarCRM contacts in Joomla. If you install this plugin you can automatically grant your clients access to your public website, without actually giving them an account in the website software. The plugin is based on the new modular authentication system in Joomla 1.5. An administrator configures which fields in the SugarCRM contacts module are used as username and password. The plugin allows you to configure website access to individual customers with only minimal preparation on the SugarCRM side. You can define any contact field as username, so having your clients login with the email address is easy.
