The Independent Brokers Group is a large collective of real estate agents. Three of those agents asked 2Value to build their new website:

• Ten Hag makelaarsgroep (Enschede area)
• Brecheisen (Utrecht area)
• Verbeek makelaars (Nijmegen area)

In a joined effort with fellow 2Value associates Kor Dwarshuis and Nathan Waelkens, we created a set of nearly identical, but individually brandable websites. Ten Hag was the first to adopt the new structure and styling of their site. The sites all feature an open source CMS coupled with open source Realty software. All in a clear and simple new layout. We also built a connection to Funda, the largest Dutch real estate website.

I've created a Joomla Readspeaker plugin for the Flevo Hospital in Almere. Readspeaker is a technology that allows webdevelopers to embed a screenreader on a website. Off course many people with a visual handicap already use screenreaders but these usually read everything on the webpage. With readspeaker, the webdeveloper can decide which content should be read, and which shouldn't. Also it's a platform independent solution. If you have a recent webbrowser with javascript enabled it works. Of course I think that creating semantically correct html should be the first and foremost priority for accessible websites. But readspeaker is a nice addition to the web developer's toolbox.

Glass fiber internet connections are the future of broadband internet. It the next couple of years the amount of fiber connections is expected to grow exponentially. Right now the large communication corporations, cable suppliers, etc are making the necessary investments in the required infrastructure. Contrary to the introduction of DSL internet connections a couple of years ago, glass fiber requires a completely new web of cables. In large parts the in The Netherlands these cables still need to be placed but in a quite a few spots glass fiber connections are already available. Chances are you yourself will switch to fiber in the next 5 years or so. It's about time then, that a community around this topic is launched. Enter: glasvezel.nu. This community website collects news about Dutch fiber initiatives and investments. Furthermore the website reviews hardware fit for fiber, explains the ins and outs such as: different connection types, applications, and details on the service suppliers. Finally the site has a postal code check that allows you to check for available connections on your address and that lists the various prices and subscriptions.

Roos Wouters is politicoloog, publicist, debatleider, adviseur, columnist en tekstschrijver. En dan heb je natuurlijk ook een website nodig. Op rooswouters.nl staat het veelzijdige portfolio van Roos overzichtelijk gebundeld. Naast de vanzelfsprekende uitleg over haar werk en diensten vind je er ook achtergrondinformatie en een CV. Je kunt er bovendien op de hoogte blijven van haar publicaties en mediaoptredens. Ze kan de site eenvoudig zelf beheren mbv Joomla CMS. Als bestuurslid van AVV heeft Roos al wat ervaring met Joomla opgebouwd. En met wat moeite en een standaard template prik je dan zo een mooie site in elkaar.

GenerationWhy is een platform en kenniscentrum voor jonge mediators. Diensten:

Samen met ervaren mediators en trainers ontwikkelen we praktische en duurzame oplossingen voor eigentijdse uitdagingen. De laatste inzichten uit de wetenschap worden hierbij toegepast. We spelen voortdurend in op de actualiteit. We bieden mediation aan in situaties waarbij jongeren betrokken zijn - denk hierbij aan relaties, familie, opleiding, werk en maatschappij.

Sinds een maandje of twee is de site Hier mag het wel in de lucht. Het project is een initiatief van Tressis. De site is een zoekgids voor horecageledenheden waar je (legaal) mag roken. Als een café een verwarmd terras of aparte rookruimte heeft komt ie in aanmerking voor opname in de gids. Zo kunnen rokers en niet-rokers makkelijk een gezamenlijke avond buiten de deur plannen. Deze weken wordt er ook gestemd voor de Revu Rookpluim. Samen met weekblad Revu nomineren we de beste horecagelegenheid waar je mag roken per provincie. Je kunt 1 keer stemmen op de horecagelegenheid die jij het beste vindt. De resultaten worden gepubliceerd in de Revu.

The PAWEX is a Dutch organisation that looks after the interests of private wind turbine operators. Linked in PAWEX, these wind energy providers take part in consultations with other power production companies, net administrators, and the ministry of economic affairs.

De nieuwe website van de Nederlandse Wind Energie Associate (NWEA) is vandaag gepresenteerd. De vernieuwde website heeft een volledig opgefrist design en draait op Drupal. Met deze overstap naar het drupal cms is er een fatsoenlijk nieuw datamodel geïntroduceerd en is er een ledenlogin, met afgeschermde ledensectie, een nieuwsbrief en archief. Bovendien is alles geïndexeerd in een zoekfunctie en geoptimaliseerd voor search engines.

Gisteren is de nieuwe website van spellen- en puzzelfabrikant Jumbo online gegaan. De nieuwe site is overgezet van een custom cms naar Drupal. Ik heb een groot deel van de ontwikkeling voor m'n rekening genomen in opdracht van Tressis BV. De vormgeving van de site is (nagenoeg) ongewijzigd. Dat lijkt prettig maar betekent in de praktijk dat de infrastructuur van de oude vormgeving opnieuw ontwikkeld moet in een drupal template.

Afgelopen maand heb ik fotograaf Marc Stender ondersteund in het opzetten van een nieuwe website: Eyelite.nl. Eyelite is een antwoord op het gebruik van stockphotos. Dat wil zeggen: geen generieke beelden maar maatwerk visualisaties. De site toont een aantal beelden uit Marc's portfolio en geeft inzicht in de ideeën erachter. De foto's, die in een externe flash applicatie (viewbook.com) gehost worden, zijn opgenomen in een serene vormgeving die niet afleidt. De vormgeving is volledig schaalbaar zodat de foto's op verschillende beeldschermen tot hun recht komen.
